How to print your coloring pages
Printing your favorite Coloring Pages at home is very simple, but there are a few details that make the difference between a perfect print and one that comes out cropped or too light. Here is everything you need to know.
1. Choose the correct format
All our Coloring Pages are prepared in A4 size, the most common standard for home and office printers. Before printing, check in the print dialog that the selected paper size is A4 (or “Letter” if you are in a country that uses this standard, by enabling “fit to page” to prevent the edges from being cropped).
2. What paper should you use?
Regular paper (80g)
Good for quick use, although ink may slightly bleed through on inkjet printers.
Thick paper (90-120g)
Best option if you will color with markers or watercolor: prevents bleeding or warping.
Thin cardstock
Ideal if the drawing will be cut out or glued onto another craft afterwards.
3. Color vs black and white
Our Coloring Pages are designed with black lines on a white background, made to be printed in black and white without using up unnecessary color ink. Check your printer settings to make sure it prints in “grayscale” if you want to save ink.
4. If the drawing doesn’t fit properly on the page
If when printing you see that the drawing appears off-center or cropped, enable the “fit to page” or “scale to 100%” option in your browser’s print dialog – sometimes the automatic setting reduces the size more than necessary.
5. Tips for coloring
Colored pencils
Better control for young children, ideal for beginners.
Crayons
Brighter colors, a good option for filling large areas.
Markers
Sharper finish, but check the paper weight to prevent bleed-through.
